@luisjalabert8366 oh. that's actually a good deal. i've been charged over 100 bucks in the past for them to remove a faulty network card. i guess it depends on the symptoms and their honesty

@luisjalabert8366 i've often found it cheaper to get the cheapest parts to diagnose, instead of taking it to a repair shop

this is good. but, the problem is that one usually doesn't have spare parts that are compatible. i usually get the cheapest parts possible to diagnose a problem (still cost money). an unbootable system is one of the nicer problems because it either boots or it doesn't. maybe you could have mentioned beep codes (not all motherboards have a readout). i was hoping you were going to show something harder to diagnose like random system crashes and how to (stress) test each component
