  1. mixing in big words just for the sake of mixing in big words seems kind of silly to me. there is more going on. you probably mix in big words because you think they will be useful for another individual. but the reason they might be useful is because others are mixing them in too. and herein lies a chicken egg situation that you're helping push forward. you are missing the big picture

  2. of course, but i was referring to the usage of uncommon synonyms, to further another individual's vocabulary. these just get in the way.
