Bacone college, I spent 5 grand on my computer, 3D molecular modeling and do voice dictation at the same time. It was a 486 with 66 megs of ram and a 1 GB hard drive (it took a special driver to get past the BIOS limitation of 512 MB hard drives) I wanted it to get into distributed computing since I got my first 110 baud Prometheus modem on my Apple II. Cuda and open MPS are the closest thing I've seen for a standard since and despite being retired, broke and trying to live on under $1,000 a month for the last 25 years and havent brought a new system in all that time, I would like to get back into it and was wondering if anybody knew how I could run a program that requires 100 gigabytes of RAM on a system that can only support 1 gigabyte . I remember computers who's ram was made of paper, I don't see why I can't tell my memory controller to just use the hard drive or an add-on pcie card as ram. (Do not tell me to increase the page file size, there isn't enough ram to hold the page table, and all that thrashing would be slower than reading directly from the drive anyway)

Can somebody help me with distributed memory? I'm looking for a single system image like kerrighrid but more current so I can run current programs with ridiculous memory requirements on systems that their motherboard doesn't even support enough RAM to hold the page table necessary for using a paging file that big.
