@_________________404 Except cost of living (Rent, healthcare, education, insurance, job security savings etc.) are so low it doesn't matter, if you earn half what a person does in the US you still have more money left over each month.
Taxes are necessary...we use the infrastructure, education system, healthcare, are protected by their police, fire fighters and military....paying no taxes is free loading of everyone else.
If Europe were doing so terribly, why is the people much more hopeful for their own futures? Why are they more content and less worried?
The birthrate issue is solvable, give parents more paid maternal leave, better healthcare (access to gynecologists, abortion rights etc.) and put stringent regulation on companies so they can't fire people for being pregnant or wanting to become it...
Lowering taxes and making peoples lives miserable is not a good way to boost birthrates... unless you want to throw all women's rights into the bin... which would be disgusting and a crime towards humanity.
