  2. Show me some evidence of that, “wisdom,” in this desperate attempt at digging for controversy where there is none and I’ll consider your point? Don’t get me wrong. Starkey is a pretty good, if somewhat opinionated, historian and I’ve enjoyed many of his books. But his two major flaws where on full display here. 1) Starkey’s gotta’ Starkey: in other words, he just want to be the bitter pill in the sugary meaninglessness of Charles’ speech, to protect his image, so he’ll get more bookings and money for speaking tours, rather than think through what he’s saying. And, 2) He’s more right wing than Margaret Thatcher on many issues and is trying to make this all about the unions. At the very least it shows that he wasn’t listening to Charles’ call for, “thoughts,” or, “compassion,” simply for the jobs these people do, without needing to politicise them. And he clearly is incapable of unbiased historical context (you know? The job he gets paid for?) when placing this address in the context of our heritage and history, or giving us any objective meaningful analysis. He’s just made it clear that he thinks that the people with too much money, getting record bonuses this year - those very same people who have made the rest of us all poorer in real terms - are the ones who should carry on getting richer for doing nothing except damage to the rest of us, whilst the people who make a difference, protect us, and make the actual quality of life better for others, can go hang . . . So where is this, “wisdom,” of which you speak? . . .

  3. I’m just glad that those panelists called out that presenter’s childish attitude toward MSM. How do people with such unsophisticated and blatantly agenda-driven attitudes get to present serious news shows anyway? Note: when they challenged the simplicity and prejudice of his statements and went on to explain why it was dangerous to exploit his platform for undermining the public trust in their news outlets (giving examples too) he quickly retreated back to the story in hand. The refuge of the vacuous is to dodge any adult responsibility and quickly throw up chaff in hopes of avoiding having to be a grown up. I just wish they’d refused to let him off the hook so easily and pressed their points a little harder. The idiot is sawing at the branch he sits on, wishing in his heart that he could command the audiences of Channel 4 or the BBC, but like all populists these days, he is not willing to work for that, do journalism or stand in the cold streets talking to politicians. He wants it handed to him on a plate, resents the fact that it hasn’t been, and his complaints about the adults in the room is that the public treats real news like adult information, instead of, “choosing,” their news and their, “preferred narrative,” as though that could do anything other than harm. If I thought that any grownups were bothering to read my rant, I would go on to explain how it’s rock bottom, lazy labelling epithets like the ones people like him, Liz Truss, Boris Johnson and (famously now) Suella, “Goodness Gracious Me Character,” Braverman use, that merely appeal to the lowest common denominator of political opinion, actively CREATING the Tory party that we have now! By sloganising, ranting and diminishing every serious issue down to a catchphrase of victimised complaint, they have turned the politics of grievance into a way of life. The result is that the Tories have flung open their doors to every closet racist, every far right prepper, every angry sexually inadequate incel, every money grubbing, tax dodging, offshore leach and every single reckless agenda in the country, leaving them with an utterly UNGOVERNABLE party, made up of competing agendas and nothing else! The only thing that unites the Tories right now is their equally ungovernable GREED, coupled with their certain knowledge that they are facing a potential generation in the wilderness, which makes them more DANGEROUS to Britain’s interests than ever! The mere fact that so many Tory MP’s are saying out loud that they want Boris back, while the country looks on in horror and disgust at the very thought of bringing back the man who was DISGRACED out of power this year, tells you all you need to know about how tone deaf, obtuse and egregiously self serving the Tory agenda is now! What can we expect from a party that has been empirically PROVEN to be morally unfit, fiscally irresponsible, behaving politically like neophytes and constantly prepared to bicker in front of cameras about the country’s finances, whilst having NOTHING to say about the threat of DEATH for the vulnerable who cannot afford to heat and eat at the same time!? Well, OBVIOUSLY, they’re going to clean out the shop and loot what remains before they get kicked out! Bankers can expect huge bonuses, businesses will get huge tax breaks, and new laws will be imposed to criminalise anyone who complains about the sheer unfairness of having a bunch of greedy children raiding their futures in front of their faces. Britain’s closing down sale has begun and these goons are going to feather their nests and get away with bloody murder, not to go and hang their heads in shame in some quiet corner of the universe, but to live it large on the lecture circuit, having holidays in exotic locations and emailing editorials to The Sun and The Telegraph from the Algarve, secure in the knowledge of a forthcoming gong, knighthood, seat in The Lords, and/or some cushy, “advisory,” position for a company that only wants the name of an ex-cabinet minister on their doors and letter headings and don’t actually want them to show up for work, except on the odd occasion when they’re getting them to use their Westminster contacts to fix policies for the best financial outcome for their company, regardless of the harm they do to the planet, our rule of law or the country’s future. And all guys like this ignorant pr*ck, presenting a show he’s not qualified to be a guest on, can say is, “Oh, oh, main stream media, mieh mieh mieh,” like the insufferable professional, “victim,” he is! But, no . . . I don’t resent idiots like him being jealous of the adult news organisations in the world, or exploiting his privileged position to cry about how he doesn’t have even more privileges. I just look at him like I would a tumour; You can’t reason with the disease. You can remove it and hope that doing so doesn’t further damage the host, as the screams of entitlement of victimhood will be heard across the nation, no doubt . . . 🙄
