  1. This is so very important. The very history, reality, identity of a people is curated in its art. Putin will want it gone, or stolen and soaked into his Soviet style state. We should offer safe haven for these works, until they can be safely returned. We would be securing their heart and keeping it beating, for their posterity.

  3. He will destroy some of it, and steal the rest. He will allow them to keep anything that doesn’t challenge his narrative (so far as he perceives that) and that is not created by artists who challenge his narratives. And he’ll want to mix that with Soviet (er, I mean, “federal”) art from Moscow. But all of that will only happen if the gallery survives the bombardments. And as we’ve seen, that will only happen if the Russian soldiers decide there is no, “target,” there. Western countries should offer to look after their art for them, (if they can get it out?) and to protect the beating heart of Ukrainian culture.

Which is why the west will refuse to do any business with Russia, until he’s gone. Only an IDIOT lets a mad man point a loaded weapon at his head TWICE. Think about that, Vlad?

  6.  @chadgaston8615  : Oh, he might, “say,” that. But what Putin, “believes,” and what he says are seldom the same thing. He calls Zelensky a Jewish, “Nazi,” for instance. Is he really THAT pig ignorant? Or is he putting on a show for the people he just, “thinks,” are that pig ignorant? Either way, it’s time for him to, “spend more time with his family,” and let the more even tempered, slightly less nukey, grownups settle world affairs . . .
