@joemcnamara4774 : I agree with much of what you’re saying, but let’s be clear? Russia has the third most powerful military (maybe?) and the largest stockpile of outdated nukes as well as new ones, but if we were measuring by economy alone, Russia wouldn’t even make the top 20. Putin has sucked all the wealth into his oligarchy like a fat spider at the centre of his web of corruption, mafia goons and ex-KGB types. That’s why the Russian people were so angry and protesting last year, and why he’s desperate to excuse the coming poverty in Russia now. He wants to be able to blame western sanctions for the fact that his people are going to starve, rather than take responsibility for the fact that he’s fleeced them and killed or jailed anyone who complains too loud.

@joemcnamara4774 : No I don’t deny it. Putin even told us he’s willing to use those nukes whilst putting his nuclear bases on high alert. Whether that’s a bluff or he’s that insane, what he’s done there is the equivalent of pulling out a shotgun in a courtroom and demanding he be allowed to win the trial. And now no one cares, all of a sudden, what his issues are with Ukraine’s future. Now, all that anyone cares about is getting the mad man’s finger off the trigger. He’s massively overplayed his hand, and no sane person allows a mad man to point a loaded gun at their head a second time. Now, the west has no choice but to see to it that Putin is taken out, deposed or assassinated, just in case he’s not bluffing. For many of us, Cold War II began around 2010 or thereabouts, with the arrival of web groups like Anonymous, who up and vanished into the ether once Putin didn’t need them anymore. But for those who are still catching up, the Cold War begins here. No one in the west can pretend Putin is their, “friend,” any longer. Not unless they’re the kind of people who get Stockholm Syndrome? Putin threatened every last one of them, including everyone they know and love, with nuclear death. There’s nowhere to go from there, except down and, hopefully, OUT!

bonobo vs humanity : Stop lying, son. That never happened. Your state media lies to you all the time. Putin shut down another news station just yesterday! Why? Because they were simply reporting the true casualty figures and Putin doesn’t want all those heartbroken parents at the steps of the Kremlin demanding to know why their children are being thrown away on a private war. Putin said it would all be over by now. Guess he underestimated Zelensky, huh?

@extremeresponsibility : Great idea. I was saying they should lock Russia out of SWIFT and use their frozen assets to compensate any businesses that lose money from that, but I like your idea better. Have Putin pay for all the aid we’re sending right now, as well as for rebuilding and repairing all the damage. 👍
