@Seekeroftruth191 : There we’re no shots fired in anger over WWII in America, after Pearl Harbor, so your comment is meaningless in real world terms. You don’t have to b within range of a bullet to be in a war.
You have confused the terms, “World War III,” and, “nuclear war,” in your mind. You’re not alone in that, but when you stop to think calmly about what is, and what, “opinions,” people express, you’ll see the stark difference. Try not to take it so personally?
Just don’t kid yourself into thinking that any potential victory of Putin’s would end at the borders of Ukraine. Their state TV says that they want East Germany back every other night. They have overt designs on Finland and Hungary too. Just one backward step has been all it has ever taken for Putin to leap forward by two steps. But standing our ground has ALWAYS resulted in Putin backing down in the face of real force. I can promise you, since hearing about this decision (which adds up to the free world telling Putin he is not getting to keep Ukraine, period) Putin has, for the first time since this started, spoken out loud, to some confident or other, about finding a domestic off ramp. A fake referendum is his best option, so he can claim his people want him to end his special operations.
Whatever he comes up with, he now knows he can’t look to the west for help with his usual face-saving excuses. This will get worse before it gets better. And you’re in it (if you pay any taxes, fuel your car, or pay heating bills?) already, whether you like it or not. If you want your bills to go down, you’d better support Ukraine’s victory.

Symbolism is everything to people sitting in the safety of their offices in Germany, the US, and Moscow. Why they were so fearful is not just about all those Eastern Block holdovers who get to vote in elections, left from the Soviet Era East Germany (a recent poll found that only 48% of their citizens support sending the Leopards, with 45% against and the rest undecided, which we might as well call a 50/50 split) but the actual message they know Putin will hear: namely, “We will not be looking to re establish the Nordstream Pipelines a few years from now and, we do not see a future rehabilitation of Moscow which includes you. We are ALL committed to seeing you lose this war completely.” To Putin, that statement adds up to, “This war ends with you dead.”
If Putin was smart, he would start looking for an off ramp domestically. He could run a fake referendum and find that his people want him to end the, “special military operation,” even if it means losing Crimea and claim to be bending to the democratic will of his people by pulling out. He might get to save himself that way?

@Seekeroftruth191 : What do you mean, “inbound?”This is already, “WWIII.” Don’t you get it yet? Putin has just been told that this war ends with him either figuring out a way to withdraw from Ukraine (including Crimea) and sell that to his people at home, or over his dead body. He began it as an attack on NATO as much as he did for his own personal enrichment. Any, “ideological,” concerns came third after those two. Check your heating, fuel and tax bills. We are ALL paying for this war and ALL supplying weapons and personnel. This is the WWIII you get when you can’t afford the nuclear kind. But, mark my words, if we lose this thing, it will not only be your bank account that gets broken, but everything you hold dear will be under direct threat. We have no more choice about securing victory for Ukraine than we would if it was our own back yard. Not any more.
