Surely the issue is that the Israeli government seems to have decided to be as diabolical as humanly possible and to make the world hate them, for some reason? I profess my belief in Christ and I also didn’t know anything about the faith of Shirlene, but the salient fact for me is the image of defenceless people being brutally beaten is usually bad enough, but to see coffin bearers desperately fighting to preserve the dignity of the dead, whilst the family of that poor woman must have been left with rage and unforgettable trauma at the sight of people who cannot fight back, struggling to prevent her body from tipping to the ground, several of whom will have been the ones being beaten for no justifiable reason, you can only conclude that the Israeli government WANTS Pariah status in the civilised world.

Makes you wonder if this was because they consider a journalist to be one of their own, or if they truly cared about being unbiased in their coverage? Personally, I think the BBC is one of the most valuable British exports the country has, with a historic value that is incalculable by comparison to all other journalism AND national heritage. But, I am also deeply concerned at the deterioration of the BBC’s values over the years, and the way that bias has crept into their journalism, making them one of the, “sides,” in the political debate, rather than a truly unbiased source of news. Worst of all, I don’t think they see it. If you complain to them about anything, they get truly defensive and obtuse! They are myopic about their own short comings, which will make me glad to see the back of the people running the place, if not the institution, when they inevitably get privatised.

It made me wonder if the Israeli government simply decided that they want be seen as a Pariah State for some reason. They haven’t issued a word of condemnation about the behaviour of their police! Not a single word! I suppose we can forget about disciplinary action? I would LOVE to hear a cop trying to justify beating a pallbearer!? On what PLANET is THAT, “acceptable,” policing? Even in the face of an INVASION, you can’t, “justify,” that shit!

@Partha Sarathi : I would have thought they were more upset at seeing a fellow journalist being treated so monstrously in death? She was one of their own, in that respect. Others are saying that they did start out calling it, “clashes,” but changed their tune in the face of backlash. I find that hard to believe, as I saw no examples myself, and it’s unlike the BBC to change their story about anything.

Galloway is a self serving nut job. Corbin was weak in the face of anti-semitism. The Israeli government are diabolical, and the fact that they have not condemned this atrocity outright tells you all you need to know. It’s like the Israeli government WANTS to be internationally hated. My question to you is, can you grasp the apparent contradictions in my statement? To me there is no contradiction.

Your comment mirrors my own so closely. It’s like the Israeli police sat down and said, “How can we get the international community to really hate us at a stroke?” And someone put up their hand and said, “I know, but it’s truly diabolical.”
