You mention, “£28 billion,” that could be raised by simple, more logical reforms. Such reforms would raise my taxes, as we rent out property. But I fully support such reforms. I’m sure that most mid-level, “wealthy,” people would be happy to pay their fair share. It’s the very rich, who are also part of a self feeding, “self fulfilling,” loop. They get so rich by gaming the system and influencing politics by dark means, which creates a system with increasingly more people who got there by gaming the system, and appeals to the types of people who game the system, and so on.
Only a radical approach would work. But it would be so patently easy to explain, it would be incredibly popular politically. So, we are forced to conclude that all political parties have a vested interest in perpetuating inequality?
