She shows signs of genuinely concerning symptoms, to me. Not just that slightly malevolent but always, “out there,” thousands yard stare of hers either. In the mental hospital at which I was a guest for a few weeks, after having a breakdown some 20 years ago or so, it was always the really, “ill,” people who espoused views like, “Let’s leave the UN and the World Health organisation, coz’ they’re just conspiracies anyway. And shut down the court system so that businesses can privatise the entire legal system and policing.” And, of course, anyone who disagreed with those unhappy people were, naturally, “a part of the conspiracy.”
That’s the terrifying character of modern right wingism today: making the insane mainstream can only end the way you think it will. Let us just pray that we can prize their grip free of the levers of power before the Tory civil war breaks anything unfixable.

I think it’s time to stand back really LISTEN to what’s being said here. “I don’t think it’s a particularly radical view to hold.” . . . ? . . . ? . . . ? . . . I know that’s a comment to be taken in context, but she’s advocating leaving the UN, the WHO, dismantling our court system and just putting businesses in charge of everything! That’s NOT, “conservatism,” by ANY measure of the term. And it’s why the Tories are fighting a civil war.
In the last 10 years the Tories got craven about holding on to power, flinging open their doors to an increasingly radical mob, making it increasingly easier for worse, more ignorant, more narcissistic, more greedy grifters to get their grubby mitts on the levers of power. Now they’re paying the cost of inviting con artists and extremist radicals into their ranks. The very identity of the party is no longer fixed. The Tories are a lot of things, but, “conservative,” is NOT one of them.
And Truss shows all of the prima face symptoms of a genuinely ill woman. As does Johnson, to a lesser degree, who has the compulsive urges of an addicted gambler. The zeal with which she can be converted from one radical idea to another is represented by her political history. She has less clue how to run a country than my kids! Sincerely.
My point is, why ask if she, “believes,” her own craziness? When a chimp is waving a machine gun around, your only concern is to get that weapon away from it, NOT what its political ideology is! These people are already proven to have spectacularly failed and the very idea that they could be allowed back into Number 10 should make us all shudder! Or have we all forgotten the great chimpocides of the last decade!?
