  4. It sickens me that the Tories have chosen this as their hill to die on at all. Their fortunes are at an all time low and an election is looming, so they have decided to appeal to the lowest common denominator, with hot button, trigger and division, “politics,” using THE MOST exploited, vulnerable and downtrodden people on Earth as their pawns in that game. I would vote for almost ANY opposition party on the basis of their opposition to this bill alone! And that’s without all of the self dealing, lies and degenerate partying these people get up to and laugh in our faces about in the mean time. And, because it’s performative politics rather than any good faith attempts at solutions, they will cost the tax payer more money in waste and delays while they’re busy getting laughed out of the courts, leaving the entire issue in a quagmire for the Labour Party to face when they come into power. All we can hope and pray for is that Labour has a set of policies up and ready to role out, immediately upon taking office, set to address everything from policing our shores to accommodating refugees, through to swiftly processing claims, with a legal frame work and the personnel infrastructure necessary to see it through. Mr Marr is right that this problem is never going to go away, but just grow. And we need a system in place that acknowledges this, which is not reactive but proactive. I can grant the Tories this much: It’s easy for us to point out what will evidently NOT work, especially when their policies are informed by cooked up data, which is no better than a pack of lies created to get the racists excited and on side. But finding ones that will work will require compromise and sacrifice, politically and in terms of initial spending; though the benefits of immigration will be reaped in the long term, given that there’s roughly a million jobs that British people don’t want to do which desperate migrants will be delighted to do for us. Where your moral principles may be pricked by what sounds like an exploitative model, may be one of those policy places wherein that, “compromise,” of which I spoke will be required? But the fact of the matter is that there is a model of solution which would bring financial prosperity to Britain, with a path to citizenship for those who are willing to assimilate and work, which will be the vast majority of migrants. And if the law is not bogged down enforcing unworkable policies for a corrupted Home Office, they will find it easier to root out the criminals, with programs of international cooperation, working up the chain of the people traffickers and slavers. There’s a lot to do, and these goons in power have demonstrated that they aren’t even thinking about the problems logically or morally, but purely politically. So they are not fit for purpose. We await the grownups, to see if they can do any better, after an election.
