Can we just remind people, like, every time we talk about the Wagner Group, that the Russian Constitution OUTLAWS private military groups of ANY kind? Putin appears unable to control his own armed forces, who are still defying his direct orders to join the regular army. Prigozhin appears to come and go from Russia as he pleases, defying his, “exile.” And, worst of all for Putin, the world got to compare him to Zelensky, who refused to flee Kyiv while Russian forces had penetrated the outskirts of the city, famously refusing an offer from the Americans for a safe ride out of the country and into exile, asking for ammunition instead, even though he knew there was an execution order out on him, whilst Putin fled Moscow for St Petersburg even though Wagner never even got within 20 miles of the city limits! Not only was he, “bitch-slapped,” by his own side (to use Artur’s own expression) but he can’t even wipe his bloody nose to, “save face,” while the best part of his armed forces are giving him the middle finger! In what world does such a thin skinned Putin sign up for that plan?

Just keep in mind, these ranting marchers don’t speak for most Russians. I doubt they represent 1% of Russian opinion. You can’t get a permit to march for anything in Russia unless the government likes what you have to say, and people who do it anyway get an automatic 15 year jail sentence. Truth is that most Russians work hard at having no political opinions at all. Moral Absenteeism is the way to survive. They keep their heads down and hope never to be noticed. The only real heroes Russia has are all in jail, the cemeteries, or working under deep cover. Godspeed, my friend.

Mmm . . . I think you’re right, Artur. The clincher for me, the security cameras were all (coincidentally) deactivated inside the building. All the footage we see was from people’s phones and outside security cameras. That’s classic FSB playbook stuff there. Plus, I think the fact that it happened in a café owned by Prigozhin was a, “message,” to him personally. “We can get on your property and we can get to you, Prigozhin. Stop criticising the army.” It could well have been Sergei Shoigu himself who sought Putin’s permission and got the FSB’s, “Wetwork,” people to handle it for them. That’s my guess. Couple of things. We simply cannot know if he is attempting some sort of disinformation messaging here, or if he’s really so dumb that he grasps so little about NATO tactics and strategy that he seriously believes that Ukraine would steal a bunch of lightly defended, strategically useless land in the north, only to trade it back for their own land later, like some dodgy Muscovite, from the back of a truck? If he’s trying to deceive, it’s a childishly inept attempt that fails to take into account the widely publicised fact that Ukraine has stipulated it will NOT cross Russian borders for any reason, (save for missiles aimed at legitimate targets) which is also a key condition for receiving NATO aid. And given that cynically trading stolen, occupied land is a criminal act, under every code of law, his ignorance is palpable. What it does achieve though, is to give us an insight into the Russian psyche. Stealing land, with crassly illegal trade offs and seeking to capture militarily useless targets must all have to seem, “plausible,” enough to Russians, for him not to know how utterly IDIOTIC he sounds in this video. Maybe he also didn’t get that other memo, about how the west pays no attention to anything Russians say anymore anyway? The free world has been ignoring everything out of Putin’s mouth since 2014 and is only making decisions based on actions and reality, not any Russian, “words.” Personally, I like him better when he’s drunk, not hung over. When he’s ranting about army corruption and unnerving Putin while he staggers about looking frightened.

I can’t blame this guy for being so sceptical about NATO’s words of support, but you only have to read the terms and conditions for membership of NATO to understand WHY they are putting it this way. One of the key conditions for joining is that you CANNOT be at war, or in a state of war, with another country when you join. So, this is a message to Russia, more than any intention to exploit Ukraine. “We will keep this up until you, Russia, admit defeat.” It would be very bad for NATO’s reputation and future if they betrayed Ukraine in such a manner, and I think they are completely sincere. But your country must also be democratic and free from corruption, at least in so far as corruption doesn’t threaten democratic rule. So, even Zelensky would be the first to admit they are not there yet. They are still rooting out the holdovers from Putin’s Puppet days, and have been doing since 2014. I would urge this man to hear what they are saying and not read too much negativity into it. It’s in everyone’s interests that Ukraine makes it into the EU and NATO now. There could be no better warning or example for other countries around the world. It would give NATO unquestioned moral authority worldwide.

That interview with that woman was the most, “informative,” part of this video, in many ways. To see how a psychosis self adjusts in real time, changing her story and finding new justifications, when faced with facts. Lurching from, “Well, there was no sign of hostility from Ukraine,” to, “We must protect ourselves from invasion!” From WHOM!??? The utter insanity of it! And you are so right it hurts. It doesn’t matter who is in charge of a country filled with such indoctrination, they will stay indoctrinated. But, if 1945 taught us anything, it was that people can change their tune, all at once, given the right stimulus. So, I don’t give up hope. If Putin was to die, sure, we would just get another nutter dictator in his place. But, he would be a nutter dictator with a predecessor whom he can blame for everything and providing an excuse to pull out of Ukraine, whilst saving face. No shots of that kind will ever be fired in anger. By mistake, quite possibly. But it’s always been that way in Russia. Their track record for nuclear accidents is literally the worst in the world, both industrially and militarily. But, by the time that Putin would even seriously CONSIDER such an act, it will already be too late. His society will already be in free fall, along with all military discipline. And people won’t want to martyr themselves for a guy like Putin, after he’s already lost control anyway. He’s not beloved in a cult like way, like his idol, Stalin.

I never heard any experts predict a rapid crash of the Russian economy? The ones I read and listened to all pretty uniformly said it would take 3 to 5 years. And that seems to be happening as predicted. Ukraine will take back their whole country before the Russian economy is so wrecked that they have to beg for sanctions relief, in return for anything NATO demands, in all probability. Some news services expressed the hope of Russia’s rapid economic collapse, but serious analysts never fell for optimism over judgement. They did remind us that much of Russia’s economy is, “dark,” and a lot of variables are unknown.
