  3. Yeah, we know. It was the ideological and tactical deal decided upon and requested by America in the post war years, which Europe agreed to. Germany and Japan (along with their allied countries) submitted to, “Nation Building.” Britain and several European countries, were bankrupt and in massive debt to America. They accepted giant contributions for their infrastructure in return for accepting the doctrine against Communism, which got increasingly strong throughout the 1950’s. The deal was: We, America, get to choose which wars to fight, which atrocities we all ignore, and we decide which international issues are important. In return, we fund all policing of trade and commerce all around the world, set up bases in all your countries and all the outposts, guaranteeing protection for all NATO members, from Communists and/or otherwise hostile powers. We agreed because we were impoverished and war torn. Britain only finally payed off its American borrowing from WWII in 2006. Washington got to run the free world, so long as they acted in good faith. That faith was broken in 2025. I disagree with this presentation’s conclusions. Europe should not cut America out completely from trade; fair enough. But they must rearm independently and gain the full ability to protect themselves collectively. They must reposition themselves as a fully independent block, reliant only upon each other. And they need to establish an independent trading and sovereignty organisation, parallel to NATO. They will need to exclude the countries which cannot be trusted with veto powers, which means Hungary right now, but should be VERY choosy about whom they include. This new, “coalition of the willing,” presents a starting point from which could spring this new organisation. But it needs to happen fast. We need Churchillian leaders of vision, with zero illusions about the autocrats, oligarchs and kleptocrats. We need, above all, to rally around our democracies, which are under direct assault as we speak.
