Alexey : Of course there is, but, “the world,” will lose it’s democracy, now. Democracy is an obstacle to all dictatorships and a direct target. You think any remaining democracies will be able to withstand the United efforts of China, Russia, America, the wealthy Saudis, the mirror image of America that is Israel, etc, etc, etc? Europe, with its rise in extreme right wing populism? Australia? If you don’t hear the alarm bells ringing, it’s because you’re not listening. Democracy is in Global Collapse, now. And, it won’t feel quite so, “abstract,” when a dictatorship comes knocking on your front door. Sorry . . .

seven : Because, today’s politicians are SO much more reliable, ethical and wise, when it comes to protecting our interests than we are? I’ll take my chances with the unwashed masses, thanks. But, yet again, I’m forced to ask; were you listening? The politicians would still be there, coming up with the legislation, and presenting it to us to vote on. Outlawing vaccination is a hyperbole that would never occur, any more than the death penalty for littering. I think you were thinking about the time when people wanted the right to opt out of MMR vaccinations, NOT, “outlaw,” them. It doesn’t have to be a Doomsday Machine, just because it uses mass opinions? It could be a way to reign in a power that is currently out of control and in the wrong hands?

seven : I genuinely think you have misunderstood what the idea is. A lot of people here have grabbed the Big Brother ball and run with it, failing to see that it’s the opposite of that. We already have ALL of the negative consequences of, “social engineering,” “engineered consent,” “manipulation,” etc. But, you guys are all saying, “The invention of the wheel will not stop people from using their hammers to keep putting in all these unwanted nails.” Don’t you get it? It’s NOT FOR that. The hammer already exists and won’t go away, and the wheel is irrelevant. For those who are frightened by informed choices and an increase in Democracy, I can see why they would fear this. For those who know that the majority would make choices to end practices which, so far, have been protected by influential minorities, I can see why they would be dead set against such a thing. But, if you’re against it, AT LEAST GRASP what it is that you oppose? If your argument does not even address the issue, it will be ignored anyway, and happen with or without your consent. Why, in a, “democracy,” would anyone oppose a system that increases the ability for people to influence political decisions? Give me one good reason? Big Brother could NOT do any more harm than he already does to the system, because it’s NOT a Big Brother issue

Gambu : Your comment could be read as both for and against the proposal, as you did not address it to anyone in particular. But, keep in mind, what you seem to be against, the, “sifting of brainwashing,” is precisely what exists now. Vote once (twice if you count the Midterms?) for one person, every four years, who gets to choose how to vote on over 6,000 Bills, or go and play golf instead. That’s what you have NOW. The equivalent of having the app and setting it to, “automatic,” on everything, without even loading in your preferences. How would adding to your influence be a, “bad,” thing?

Gambu : Look. Try to think of it as a valve. The traffic only goes ONE way. You do NOT get adverts, social media or ANYTHING coming IN to this system. Only your OUTPUT. Your internet habits and usage are your own, and there is no reason to imagine they would be in ANY WAY effected by the installation of this app. YOU tell IT what to bring to your attention, in terms of what is being voted on. YOU tell IT, what your personal preferences are, OR NOT. It’s entirely INSIDE YOUR CONTROL, just like the INSIDE OF YOUR HEAD. You VOTE of issues that you WANT to vote on. You read the Bills, OR NOT, and you get it to, “Auto-Vote,” on issues, IF you WANT IT TO, and can access EVERYTHING in that record, and CHANGE the settings, if you find yourself having voted on something you didn’t want to. HOW is it going to, “influence,” YOU, when the whole MEANING OF ITS EXISTENCE is for YOU TO INFLUENCE IT? Your phone has literally got more power over you, RIGHT NOW, than it could ever have. Even if you NEVER allow it to, “Auto-Vote,” (which would probably be my setting) it would still have value, even if you only ever used it once in four years. Do you get the concept? Or, am I the only one who understood the lecture?
