There is no mechanism by which his sentence can be reviewed, save by appeal and even then there’s no hope of reviewing that aspect of the sentence, only the safety of the conviction on the basis of new evidence or, “by reason of insanity,” which has already been rejected. The Parkland shooter will never breathe free air again, and I cannot imagine a worse sentence in America. Death row drags on for many years with the sword of Damocles hanging over your head, but you have special isolation to protect you from the prison population, which this criminal will not get. His fate is sealed unless there is a change in fundamental law in the USA, which is not going to happen because prison populations are tied into America’s economic model too deeply. A massive free labour market for the government to exploit, making everything from licence plates to window glass. That’s an entire 10% of America’s population, btw.
