  1. Argon and grain too. 50% of the world’s argon (used for making microchips, of which there is a worldwide shortage) comes from Ukraine, and a third of the world’s imported grain supplies. And the energy dominance is at the forefront of the west’s thinking. Shell and Exxon paid billions to Ukraine to develop what they believe is more gas and oil than Russia has, sitting under Ukraine. Guess where? Donbas (along with coal) and offshore in Crimea. Energy Security has been the west’s No.1 priority since the term was invented (over 100 years ago) and they may not be saying it out loud, but that’s why they won’t allow Putin to win this war.
