  1.  @ymb9shinzou743  : I was fascinated by that dichotomy too. You can see he’s torn between playing to the crowd (which is what every fibre of his instinct is calling on him to do) or being polite and adult enough to answer Terry’s questions in a thoughtful, grownup way. The kicker for me is that I’m so old, I remember watching that interview on live TV, when my mates (fellow students) were impatiently urging me to come out to the pub with them. Rick, we miss you.

  2. And, by all accounts, a truly decent man. I always wondered if it was that quad bike accident or all those blows to the head he took, professionally, that did for him? It came as such a terrible shock for many Britons. For me, it’s like when I heard Diana was dead, or the twin towers attack. Strangely, more saddening and more of a blow that stayed with me, at least in some emotional ways. I so miss him.

  4.  @JohnsysChannel  : There’s hope for you. I don’t know how acute your experience of shyness is, but I’m that guy that everyone is stunned to learn is being treated for agoraphobia. Which is not, as so many think, fear of open spaces, but an irrational fear of the, “agora,” market place: other people in uncontrolled and uncontrollable numbers: basically being outside of my house. I seem to be the first one to talk and the most, “dominant,” personality (not, “dominating,” far from it) but (as you may know from experience?) the act is merely a way to try to, “control,” the environment. More people have that basic insecurity than you might think? But when it becomes the thing that costs you sleep, causes you to try to plan for every possible outcome from tomorrow’s trip to the shops, and convinces you you’re having a heart attack, just because someone walked into the room when you weren’t ready for it, or your train broke down, or some such . . . Then you have agoraphobia my friend. I say all this because Rick was a borderline case if ever I saw one. ✌️
