  1. Doesn’t need to be unpleasant? It just needs to be, “novel,” and distracting? Don’t stare at spiders to experience, “more life.” Do something you don’t normally do, every day. Go to a museum? Take your dog to a different park? Read a different kind of book than you’re used to? Talk to strangers? Or, leap out of a perfectly serviceable plane if you have to, but surely, it’s the novelty, not the torture that’s important, right?
