  4.  Gizella Lombardi  : The hypocrisy of the GOP’s desire for a slave class is why that border problem never gets solved. Even if there was a wall, hermetically ceiling off the border (including tunnels, boats and aircraft) farmers, private factory owners and all those folks with lawns and a desire to have a housemaid (or whatever other staffers that flatter their own egos) would be in control of a system for allowing them in. Suddenly, background checks would never be about whether someone was a legitimate asylum seeker, but whether their criminal history makes them too unsafe to nanny for your kids. It would be a job interview, for slave labor at slave wages, with brutal criminal consequences for getting it wrong. Naturally, they won’t ruthlessly prosecute the factory owners or farmers, for employing illegal labor. That would be too much like solving the problem, overnight! And that’s why it pays them to have all the poor white Americans kept in uneducated, racist ignorance, foaming at the mouth and doing their campaigning for them. As we fall into a labor crisis, right now, where educated Americans are simply unwilling to work for shitkicker wages, it’s the very people who claim they want to close the border who rely on illegal immigrant labor. If they were all legal, they would be demanding the same wages as the rest of us. Just another example of the rank hypocrisy that perpetuates a problem that the very people who cause it claim they want to fix it more than anyone else. Leaving the grownups stuck with the complexities of seeking fair, humane, constitutional solutions, without ANY cooperation from the fascist Qult of the GOP.
