  1. I honestly don’t think, “we,” will have anything to do with Musk’s ultimate downfall. The way he’s worn the face of Republican villainy for trump looks like a classic Machiavellian set up, as written in The Prince. Ever heard the story of Ramiro D’Orco, governor of Romagna, who worked for his ambitious prince, Cesare Borgia? Ramiro violated church laws, tortured and violated the people of Romagna and killed off any and all opponents of the Borgia clan, suspected or otherwise. And, after bringing the province to heal by destroying its records, institutions and security, leaving the surviving Romagnans terrified, docile and compliant enough to obey any and every edict a Borgia might utter, there was only one problem left. The bitter rage and resentment that boiled under the surface of Romagnan society was a cauldron of hatred that would continually threaten to boil over them forever, unless the local authorities did something to mollify the embittered population. So, making a great show of ignorance at Ramiro’s atrocities and feigning outrage at discovering them, Cesare had Ramiro arrested on Christmas Day of 1502, on trumped (pun intended) up conspiracy charges, Stalin (or Putin) style. On Boxing Day the inhabitants of Romagna awoke to the best Christmas present ever: the bisected body of Ramiro, on display in the town square, his head and body separated by the block and executioner’s knife between the two parts, just so all would get the message. Cesare Borgia was conveniently out of town that day, giving his people the opportunity to gauge the local response to this act. And, surprise, surprise, it worked. The Borgia’s maintained their rule over Romagna without incident for Cesare’s remaining reign. It seems obvious to me that Trump will gain a massive boost in popularity when he has Musk perp-walked out of power and into a cell (presumably, “suing,” him for all he’s worth in the process) and enriching himself at the same time. But, he will only do this AFTER Musk has fulfilled his role and handed Trump everything he requires. Musk looks to me like a taylor made patsy, playing the role of Ramiro D’Orco to Trump’s Cesare Borgia. At least, the way Machiavelli tells it, he does.
