  1. I doubt if any amount of training would have altered the outcome substantively for the Russians? The will to fight is everything. Russians have shown they have no compunction about killing, raping, stealing, etc, but they are not defending their homes; they don’t trust their comrades to back them up; they certainly cannot count on personnel from other units or different disciplines (navy and airforce, etc) as they treat one another as rivals, competing for resources and concerning themselves with blame and shame, constantly fearing the anger of their leaders and of Putin or the Kremlin officials back home.
