@darthwiizius : “So, why not do what we always do and steal more horses from our enemies?”
“Because they are wise to us and have moved all of their women, children, civilians and pets far out of reach. Never fear though. We still have a LOT of convicts, roughly half the population of Russia by now, I should think? I’m sure they will be delighted to pull our chariots of fire into battle.”
“‘Chariots of fire,” is a good name. I like that. Did you think of it?”
“No, Herr Putler. It is what everyone calls any, ehem, ‘vehicle,’ we send into battle. Because they all wind up burning.”
“Gott in Himmel! Execute some generals! I need cheering up! Chuck a few out of some high windows! It’s not like that should be hard? Since all of the windows are smashed by protestors anyway!”

Dennis Wilson : In this case, it wasn’t exactly like that. As Jake pointed out, they invested in government bonds, which are actually a very sound investment under normal circumstances, and would be considered to be highly responsible investing. No one expects a run on the banks, but the unusual pressures of the Fed’s actions, world markets and this war, have created unusual outcomes. However, also as Jake pointed out (in previous videos) none of this was unforeseen, nor is it considered a crisis to those in charge. It seems fair to me that they bailed out the Silicon Valley bank, which had done everything right, so far as they built responsible port folios with blue chip government bonds was concerned. And it puts out the message, world wide, that you won’t get wiped out for trusting government backed investment.
Usually I would fully agree with you, but these are strange times we’re living in. It seems all our assumptions are questionable, and we must be prepared to evaluate each case with a fresh and open mind.
