@ros8737 : I always find it helps to think of western media as children, overreacting to anything and everything they hear. Yes, they are doing a good job of keeping the issue alive in the minds of the public. But they are not so good at offering a realistic or consistent take on developments. That’s why channels like this one are so important, reported by someone with experience, insight and knowledge, who takes the time to analyse incoming information and sift through the matters that need our focus, whilst setting aside the hype and, just as often, explaining the hype.
The press have become just as much a part of the story, requiring interpretation and a degree of dissection, if we want to understand their headlines. It’s always unhelpful when they say dumb stuff as though Ukraine is somehow, “losing,” simply because they aren’t storming through to Moscow or something and have changed their tactics so as to grind down Russian military infrastructure.
Like when CNN always acts like every time Putin so much as looks at a nuke we should all prepare for Armageddon, when people with any knowledge of Putin know better than to treat anything he says or does as remotely plausible. But, if that serves to drum up support for giving Ukraine the weapons they need to win this war, I’m all for it. If it’s scaring people off, for the sake of dominating 24 hours of the news cycle, I’d like to throttle the producers!
Gone are the days when your news channels were the way you took a step back and acquired news and sound analysis. Now you have to add their behaviour to the mix and analyse them just as hard.

@nomcognom2414 : That’s a possibility, that he’s heading The Bank Of Prigozhin which provides no insurance policy against sudden liquidation? While Wagnazis remain loyal to him, he has control of those diamond and gold mines in various African countries, so he’s been moving large amounts of cash around the globe for some time now. That’s his real leverage, I think. He humiliated Putin, yet lives to tell the tale? Only MONEY can buy you THAT level of toleration, right? While Zelensky refused to flee in the face of the enemy, asking for ammunition instead, Putin fled to St Petersburg from Moscow! From his own people! And they didn’t even get to the city limits! How can Putin forgive Prigozhin for forcing such an epic level of cowardice out of Putin, and offering the world such a stark comparison between him and Zelensky? Even now he’s flouting his, “exile,” by Putin’s own admission, attending a meeting in Moscow, while Wagner continues to defy Putin’s direct orders and submit to military authority . . . Putin’s hatred for Prigozhin will manifest sooner or later. Count on it. And the only thing that’s keeping Prigozhin alive right now is his value in dollars.
