That last story hits home for me as my youngest daughter is studying in Scotland for her Physics doctorate, crossing into the medical world, using light in very complicated ways to identify and reduce brain tumours. While she is working so hard to contribute something of worth to the body of potentially life saving knowledge in the world, I simply cannot imagine her dropping all of that to defend her country from a mad terrorist’s campaign of conquest, and losing her life in the process. It makes me shudder. But it brings home the blessing of not being in that position, and why it is so important to support those who are. Glory and total victory for Ukraine are my greatest hopes for this coming year.

  2. You always get my thumbs up. Your service is invaluable. Terrorism is Putin’s only weapon. War crimes his only actions. COWARDICE is the only word I can imagine being stuck with him, for the rest of history.

I think what we’re seeing from Russian media is the beginning of a slow movement toward the acceptance of defeat whilst still holding out the hope of, “saving face.” It’s our job to see to it that reality hits them harder and harder until they’re forced to accept it. Russia’s entire history, since WWII, has been a story of brutal conquest and concomitant hypocrisy. Just more of the same at present. How a sociopath reconciles defeat is not something we need sully our hands with. Just sticking to the path of truth, democracy and freedom will crush the hypocrisy out of these goons.
