  3.  @bg1616  : YouTube can still earn money from slapping ads into people’s videos. It depends on the contract you have with them, but just because you stopped relying on ad revenue (which is, frankly, a rip off, these days) doesn’t necessarily stop them from making money from your content. But, like I said, I got zero ads, so this is clearly regional. And, YouTube are prone to mistakes, famously so. Especially when those, “mistakes,” favour their own income. Dunno’ what to tell you, having no memory of what you’re asserting that he told us, and having not gotten an ad anyway? Got a link to the particular video?
