  2. Thank you, Jake. I suspect that Durov has had a, “legend,” (as we Brits call it) or a cover story in America, for some time now. I think the Russians were planning on using him after making it look like he was fleeing Russia? Either that or he was, as you say, playing both sides and got rumbled by both, so he wisely decided he would get a much fairer deal in the west than he would in Russia. Now, Putin is losing it at all that valuable intelligence Durov is being squeezed for by the French.
