@rufescens : If I were you, I would just re-read what you wrote about AIPAC in your own description and then ask yourself if that doesn’t sound quite sinister enough? A private group who funds the careers of politicians, “they like,” to buy them influence and pay for campaigns? At least, to my British eyes, that reads like a deliberate attempt to undermine democracy. What happened to politicians gaining success because of their, “merits,” and because they, “represent,” the views and interests of their community, rather than needing to purchase their popularity? And, if you’re suggesting that these people will not have a debt to pay, or be beholden to their funders, you can’t be an American? You just described wholesale buying of politicians, which is quite, “monstrous,” enough.

He was deposed and executed with his entire family. *The Communists’ weakest moment resulted from the Kremlin throwing away countless lives on the battlefields of Afghanistan. That regime was deposed. *Several minor coups followed the fall of communism, as the old regime fought to restore itself. But they all lost, because once you’ve had your shot, the people are NOT going to let the old guard return to purge them all out of revenge. *Less than a year ago we all saw that it was possible for factions within Russia to mount a tangible military threat to the dictatorship. That ended in tears because the people were not involved and it was really just a squabble between oligarchs, fighting over slices of the pie. But it demonstrated the one thing of importance the people are holding in the back of their minds; there is sufficient division within leadership, just seeking its opportunity. *WHEN Russia loses this war, history will repeat itself. Putin’s weakest moment will result from throwing away countless lives on the battlefields of The Ukraine. And Putin will find that there is no insulation hermetic enough, no pile of cash big enough, to prevent him from being deposed. And Putin being Putin . . . They HAVE to kill him and let the people see the body.

@runrau9275 : I didn’t even know Tucker Carlsikov was in Russia. Maybe he’ll stay there? I’d bet real money that, whatever he claims to be up to, he’ll be cutting some under the table deals regarding talking points for cash. Probably picking out his dacha for the day he’s forced to defect.
