@animegaming4057 : Other than spelling out the consequences of what will happen to Russia, should ANYTHING happen to that power station, also letting Russia know that we’ll just be working on the assumption that Russia did it deliberately in the absence of evidence to the contrary, the only other viable option is to move in, right away. Declare an exclusion zone for both sides of the conflict, secure and de-mine the area, then fly in specially protected volunteer teams to look after the place in shifts. That’s certainly what I will be asking my MP for when I write to him today. I suggest you all write to your representatives and ask for an equally extreme solution, if you want them to even lift a finger in that direction?

@justy1189 Well spoken. Me too. I would urge all people who care to write to their representatives. I’m old enough to remember Chernobyl as a young man, and the way the radioactive cloud was tracked across Europe for weeks. The psychological harm that did in Britain was incalculable. It effected everyone and was all people talked about for many weeks. Yet, even without a giant explosion, the radiation cloud from this would be considerably worse, on a geometric scale. Anyone not begging their representatives for action right now, simply doesn’t get it. And you can be certain your politicians don’t, until they have it explained to them. And that won’t happen until they ask a staffer why they’re suddenly getting these random letters and emails from around the country about the topic, and how many votes are in the issue.

@catherineandpaulfuters2523 : Don’t let anyone kid you into thinking it isn’t worth your while. Whether you get a response or not. When I first started writing to my MP about Ukraine I got automated responses, then a staffer wrote back to me, then I got an email from my MP, inviting me to attend a meeting I couldn’t go to and would have included a thousand other people like me. The stats for your correspondence are weighed in a political scale which puts a different value on each type of letter; whether email, text, called in, visit to the MP’s surgery (or Congressional representative, or whatever you have in your country) or actual hand written letters. Each one is counted as X number of people who think the same thing but who don’t have the time or inclination to write to the representative about it. NOTHING is wasted in political communications, even if you don’t hear back. But the fact that you didn’t even get an automated response probably means it didn’t reach their office, so it’s worth checking the address and trying again. Unless you’re counting the automated response as a none-reply, for which I wouldn’t blame you? But it is counted, not wasted. Anyone selling you a different take on that is either excusing themselves from bothering, against you and pro-Putin, or just not very bright. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦✌️🇬🇧
