  1. Why am I not surprised at your hobbies? It’s strategies all the way down. Tactics, strategy, planning, calculations, etc, makes perfect sense for a financial analyst and advisor, turned war analyst and ex-Missileer. I was surprised to learn you’re an Eddie Izzard fan, but pleased by that, as I grew up alongside him (so to speak) always avidly enjoying any recordings I could get hold of since I first heard him on The Secret Policeman’s Other Ball LP, on a Record Player, many, many summers ago.   2. It is a requirement under NATO’s membership form that you have to be NOT fighting a war in order to join. That is why NATO keeps saying, “Yes, Ukraine will join, but we don’t like talking about when,” effectively. Ukraine will need to win a total victory and have sufficient defences to keep all of Russia’s military back from bombing rage, whilst being able to quickly shoot down any jets that get within 500 KM’s of their borders. That’s my thought, at any rate.
