@WangAiHua : Seems unlikely. Even if Zaluzhny was ousted in such a way, the Ukrainians themselves, from Zelensky on down, would not tolerate wasteful attacks. Zelensky may not be a soldier by training, but he has enough experience to know that much. More likely this is just a rotation of staff. I can’t imagine how stressful it is to be responsible for so many lives, and to have to continually count the dead each day, write to their families, plan the most important battles in history, live in secrecy to avoid spies and so on, but mental health is an important factor that must be safeguarded.

@WangAiHua : P. S. I don’t discount the idea completely. If a watered down version of it. But, surely general strategy and approach would have been agreed with his replacement beforehand? If he was to go so egregiously off script, he’d get one shot at sabotage, before being shot himself.

@WangAiHua : I never suggested Zaluzhny was off script. As far as I know, he’s done an admirable job and step down with dignity and the assurance of a job well done. Perhaps re-read my comment?

@WangAiHua : Sorry for my lack of clarity. Yes, there could be a diabolical plan afoot, or maybe Zelensky has picked the perfect man for the job? We simply cannot know at this stage. But I am inclined to believe in Zelensky’s judgement, which has been sound, historically speaking. I am as paranoid as anyone when it comes to the deviousness of Putinistas. But so is Zelensky. And he’s way smarter than Putin, so we’ll just have to watch and see until we have more information.
