@charlesstai3905 : Sadly, impossible. It is a condition of joining NATO (Section 5, I think?) that you cannot be in a state of war with any country at the time of joining. A ceasefire wouldn’t remedy that. And, it wouldn’t even buy them time to complete steps toward it as no steps can be conducted in secret, necessarily so. You must never give the enemy what they’re asking for. If I were a Ukrainian diplomat (or in Zelensky’s shoes) I would ask Putin for any plausible show of sincerity, by making the first move, such as a withdrawal of their military from the area around Zaporizhzhia, say 50 kilometres in all directions? Or any condition that would represent a genuine loss to Russia strategically, should they break their ceasefire. Putin broke all of the previous ceasefires, with impunity. Russia simply cannot be trusted at any level.

@RovertNosnikgdoh : You’ve given that a lot of thought. I would only caution, however, there is always a lot going on (both on the front lines and behind them on both sides) that we, the public, don’t know about.
