How can that first caller say Braverman did nothing about immigration when she was in office? She did loads! She made the asylum backlog five times longer, gave a cash fortune to a country with an atrocious human rights record for doing NOTHING, got fired for breaking the law, gained the enmity and distrust of the secret services, created Victorian prison hulks, made the most vulnerable people on Earth feel frightened and persecuted, whilst treating them like criminals and putting them in conditions that endangered their health and lives! Oh, and then she joined the people trying to bring down the Tories and sabotaged her own government, displaying the loyalty of a rattlesnake!

That last caller was spot on. The Tories have paid the price for NOT checking the hate as it grew in their ranks. They just wanted the seats and took in any populist, any incompetent with cash, any, “personality politician,” and hang the consequences! He nailed it!

@surose7506 : She might, yes. If the Tories want to remain in the wilderness, I can’t see that harming Britain’s prospects any more than they already have. Gives the new government a minimum of two terms in which to get stuff done and the voters to feel the positive effects in their pockets and on their streets.

I think that last caller said it beautifully. It’s not that bigots are bigots. But that these bigots were tolerated for their vote winning abilities, or their cash, or their influence with foreign leaders and now, they act like they run the place. That’s the price the Tories are paying now: People who would NEVER have been promoted as high as they have been, self serving narcissists, using divisive, sabotaging tactics, calling the electorate names from the parliamentary dispatch box and leading Tory voting prospects off a cliff, are now ex party leaders or cabinet members, and/or bidding for leadership of the party now! This sort of squalid, Americanised, cut throat, cut priced, corruption riddled, foreign influenced politics has never seen the light of day before in Westminster. And the British people are just not having it. More power to them.
