Precisely. And the Tories have their old playbook to use, which they’ve reached for like clockwork toys. Anonymously sourced articles in the client media saying, “Look how expensive Labour’s plans are. They’re scare mongering!” And in six months or less, “Look how long it’s taking to get any results!” Well, not this time, Rishi! This time each Cabinet head is conducting root and branch studies of each department and holding up the receipts for the country to see! So that all Britains (who pay attention) KNOW, if it’s expensive and time consuming, that’s because of the diabolical MESS the Tories made of it! And here’s the EVIDENCE!

@applecounty : That’s what would have happened if, by some miracle, the Tories had clung to power. Their plan was to run everything from Health and social care, to prisons and the security services, into the ground, so that the robber barons get to play the, “white knight,” role when they privatised the lot. Almost as if putting a billionaire venture capitalist in charge of a country (which he just viewed as so many assets to be broken up and sold off) was a bad idea, right? We would have ended the next parliament with a bunch of privatised, rival police forces roaming the streets like packs of wild dogs, and all of us living in fear of defenestration if we say the wrong thing about someone, like it was Russia now!

I’m loving how Labour is handling each department. The usual Tory playbook is to say, “Look how expensive Labour’s plans are! And look how long it takes to get any results!” NOT this time, Rishi! Each new Cabinet Minister is doing a root and branch review of each department and holding up the RECEIPTS! Labour ministers get to say, “This is the RUIN the Tories made, and THIS is WHY it’s expensive to fix! If you need to, ‘blame,’ someone, blame the Tories!”

@markwelch3564 : And they were doing that whilst the Prison’s Secretary and Home Office were asking judges to avoid prison sentences wherever possible because there was no room left in our prisons anyway! A combination of populist politics with the left hand having no notion of what the right hand was doing, so that departments became rivals and routinely stuffed each other, both behind the scenes and in the press, didn’t help. What an unconscionable shower of incompetent rotters we had. I hope every department has a root and branch review so as to show the public what an abject shambles the last lot left us in, and why cleaning up their MESS will cost tax payer money and take time. Why should Labour always have to take blame for the expense of repairing Tory fecklessness and be left having to explain why the results are not instantaneous? Hold up the results of independent government reviews for all to see and let the blame rest with whom it belongs.

@markwelch3564 : I wrote a detailed response to your first comment on prisons, there, which YouTube zapped. No idea why. I must have used a, “prohibited,” word. I certainly didn’t use any expletives.
