The simple answer is: We can’t. We cannot trust them and we have been shown that it is actually unwise to do so. To the point where it can be actually life threatening. When we hear how they talk about each other (and both individuals from the general public and collectively) it is clear that they have a mindset steeped in contempt for, “the other,” and the type of narcissistic self regard you would expect from sociopaths. But, you know what frightens me most about both the Covid and the Post Office enquiries? What truly fills me with a sense of despair is that NOTHING of substance will happen to the individuals who are most guilty. They have blood on their hands and the message we’ve received so far is that these people are untouchable. Indeed, the more harm you do to the British people, the higher will be your honours. That sickens and terrifies me.
