  1. Personally, I hope Cameron will prioritise Ukraine every bit as much as he does Israel and Palestine and visit Zelensky. Your point about our intervention in Kosovo is most salient. We were major players on the European stage then, guiding world affairs in lockstep (more or less) with America and the UN. Indeed, Blair forced the hands of several countries to help out. For the sake of world peace, Ukraine MUST win this war. I would hope that people, if they write to their MP’s at all, would refocus our commitment to Ukraine as an election issue.

While Starmer has been forced to reshuffle his minor Cabinet positions, in a vote that would have made the headlines in a quiet week, his activity on that front has been overshadowed by the Tory infighting, reshuffles and, “events, dear boy, events.”

  3. I so admire your compassion and the way you reconcile that with rationality and reason. Thank you. Can Israel not see they have set themselves up in the most self destructive way? Netanyahu is facing trial for corruption as soon as the war ends and he knows he will be out of power, more or less, at the moment the last shot is fired. It is in his active interest to sustain a state of war, therefore! That’s the only way he has of avoiding public disgrace, dethroning and possible jail time! He also knows he can win more support by satisfying the zionists and right wingers with bloodshed and brutality, possibly swaying enough public opinion to satisfy the majority of Israelis, as the centrists acquiesce while they appear to be winning and less threatened in their homes; a phenomenon Israel has seen before. Israel currently has a system in which your legal matters can be fought in the political arena, and your politics are settled in the courts. Why would Netanyahu surrender himself to ignominy and shame, when he retain power by entrenching his country in a state of war? A war he has longed for his whole life, I might add! I simply don’t understand why no one is talking about that? Do you have any thoughts on that?
