  1. All the convictions must be quashed collectively and a compensation scheme must be established. It is a fact that the courts processed each trial, and is responsible. You’re absolutely right that it seems like deliberate obtuseness. Paying back their money should not be conflated with the matter of compensation. Nor should restoring their good names. The government should offer an instant and collective apology and be told they are now responsible for getting everyone’s name cleared.
