The most frightening thing about modern politics today is that people like Lee Anderson, so patently thick, so exposed as a fraud, so childish and incompetent, so personal and bitchy, so lame and did I mention unutterably THICK, can even rise in the British parliamentary system at all? He’s been kicked out of Labour and the Tories and is SO obviously simply servicing his own petty ego, offering less than nothing to public life. But the fact that anyone would vote for an exposed fraud is as chilling to me as the recent fascist riots he sponsors. That people can so easily be manipulated into voting against their own interests is something that should occupy us all until that problem is solved. And it begins with root and branch reform of the press.
