  1. So, what do we DO? Write to our MP’s? What? You have to STOP just highlighting these problems without suggesting any remedy whatsoever. “Where is the responsibility? Where is the duty of care?” you ask. Where is yours? We simply cannot afford to be passive observers of the end of the world. And YOU cannot count yourself as having discharged your responsibility by simply reporting on it to an increasingly alarmed, horrified, confused and depressed public. That is just making things worse. On the final night of The End Of The World Show, when they ask you, “What did you DO to try to stop this?” do you expect to be able to answer, “Well, I made sure I told everyone about how bad it was, making them feel less inclined to act because of the sense of hopelessness and powerlessness I instilled in them.”??? YOU are on this sinking ship with us. And you are holding the megaphone, having the attention of large numbers of people. Are you only ever going to use your megaphone just to keep informing us about one breach in the hull after another? Or do you think it might be wise to prevent panic and despair by coordinating things? Maybe tell people where the buckets are and assigning people to bailing the water out, while sending the best qualified to repair the breaches and save the damned ship!? You realise you’re sinking WITH us, right?
