Upper Echelon Gamers : A lot to think about, there. And a very well put case, as ever. When we ask, where has this, “believe the victim,” culture come from? It’s worth remembering that, not long ago at all, there tended to be a dismissive, overtly suspicious response to serious allegations, where victims were routinely dismissed, with allegations of, “attention seeking,” “Gold Digging,” etc, heaped upon them. The, “believe the victim,” thing is a reaction to that. And, like all, “reactionary,” views, is inherently leaning too far in one direction. The counter weight of this popular tendency will, as these things do, probably balance out, until the pendulum settles in a more enlightened, balanced place. For that reason, as I so often do, I urge balance. Do not believe an allegation simply because it has been made; fair enough. But, do not allow that mindset to push you too far in the opposite direction. As you say, “impartiality,” is the key, and therefore, we should not assume that the allegation is false, either. I have yet to see someone who gained anything worth having, set against the backlash they’ve been through, by making false allegations of a serious, sexual, violence, or similar nature; and those who have, were usually unwell, or palpably, “hokey,” in some way, to begin with. True objectivity requires steadfastly treating both sides with equal respect ✌️

KLOK KAOS : I see your point, regarding the sense of disenfranchisement and frustration that people feel, which can lead to people leaping onto the bandwagon simply because it’s the closest game in town, to the thing that really bothers them. The same reason we had lynch mobs, right? People were sick of the fact that there was no Law Enforcement, so they make a point, by hanging some hapless, juvenile horse thief. It’s an outlet for frustration, which only makes things worse, as they are all murderers, now; forced to stick together and cover for each other, no matter how much they come to loath one another.
The solution is simple: Objectivity. Fairness and balance are easily said, but not so easily achieved, though. Especially on websites that are designed to appeal to strong emotions. So, though the practical solution is simple, perhaps that just reveals another problem? That of self control, and setting aside ones emotions, in favor of evidence. Yet, we live in a world where even the news stations are appealing to our sense of outrage, anger, sympathy, etc. So, all that remains is to be aware of that, be your own person, and to keep in mind; when you find you’re swimming against the tide, that’s probably because you’re right ✌️

Anthony Pierre-Canel : If she is all she appears to be, she should be investigated, by a self regulating system that would shut her out as a consequence of her actions. I can only imagine that she is making money for someone, which will be why that hasn’t happened yet? Or, she could be much maligned, for all I know, though I doubt it? If she is all these things, she seems set to destroy herself, and has already taken some illegal, and outlandish risks. I don’t disagree with you, in principal. But, I am stuck, because I don’t know anything about her, other than what I’ve gleaned from this video, and you good people of the inter webs . . .

Kyle Alm : Seems you’ve put the worst possible spin on that? Hardly fair. Especially when UEG specifically points out that these are a confluence of circumstances, “which may NOT be connected.” Do you, honestly, believe that there was, “no,” connection, at all? Why do people feel the emotional need to be so extreme in their views? Imagine you knew someone who had, inadvertently, done something awful? Would you leap down their throat, making things worse, and becoming a part of the problem? Or, would you look for a way to use this, “teachable moment?” Do you WANT good or bad to come of this? What power do you have to influence thongs for the better? It’s easy to make things worse. Much harder, and therefore, a much greater achievement, to make things better. Seizing the opportunity to lecture others, merely because it’s there, is immature. But, that was not your intention, was it? It seems to me that a lot of hostility comes out in social media, because people attempt to preempt the response they’re expecting? Don’t be that guy?

Anthony Pierre-Canel : No problem, man. I search hard for forums where disagreeing with someone is an, “interesting,” thing to do, where people, “debate,” like men and women, not children. UEG attracts a lot of grown up gamers, like that. So, I thank you too.
She sounds to me like, maybe, she’s blowing the, “right person,” or something? But, it usually comes down to Brute Force, in the end. In her case she has three forms of Brute Force: The revenue she creates is huge, meaning her platform provider will instinctively default to protecting her as a money making asset; then there’s followers, who will, sheeplike, follow her, defend her and do what she asks. Once people have invested their time in her, they are, “defending,” themselves and their own choices. If she’s exposed as something malign, that brings into question the judgement of her followers. People don’t like to admit they were wrong, or that they have been supporting a sex criminal, so they’ll work hard at providing her with excuses; And finally, perhaps most importantly, she has a, “history of hits,” now. She has successfully ruined the careers of others, and has a killer reputation, which makes other streamers more inclined to, “play nice,” with her, and avoid conflicts with her, because she could do that to them. None of those three points are disputed, not even by her, so far as I can tell? So she has all that Brute Force behind her, meaning it would take a LOT to knock her from her pedestal. If she really is what has been described here (which my gut tells me is true, because I trust the source, UEG, who’s never steered me wrong yet) then she’s a monster who SHOULD be in jail. I just don’t have the time to verify the facts, but I hope developments are covered on this channel? Pleasure talking with you 👍✌️

auzieten : I doubt anyone would disagree with that. Watch with interest, and judge on the facts alone. The, “problem,” you’re left with is, “moral responsibility.” She has a huge fan base. Knowing what is being said about her, would I be a good parent, if I encouraged my kids to watch her? Should I let them make their own choices? Even if she may be a sex criminal and responsible for the suicide of others? It’s all disputed, but should I continue to support her? If I was a fan? Seems to me that those involved with her, from the casual viewer, to the close personal friends, SHOULD be doing their own research, to establish the facts as best they can? It is NOT disputed that she has, “cancelled,” the careers of others. And, being objective does not release me from my ethical responsibility to exercise judgement. It’s a tough one, don’t you think? ✌️

Adam Kelley : The answer to your question is just one word: “Money.” So long as she’s making serious money for people who are serious about money, she will be protected. The only thing that could change that, would be for her to lose her base, get indicted for sexual offences, or if she just stopped making them serious money. The problem is compounded by the fact that, if she is all the things that she appears to be, she will be aware of her own vulnerabilities. And, that means that she will have to double down, in order to protect herself, and retain the Brute Force Power she has now. Tragic, really . . . ✌️

Toukoha : Thought provoking comment. Perhaps we need a Media Awareness course, throughout our Education Curriculum, from early youth, to leaving age? So, as to better prepare our next generations in critical thinking, healthy skepticism, analysis, cross referencing, discernment, etc? . . . How many influential entities would block such a thing, through lobbying, I wonder?
