Upper Echelon Gamers : There was a time, when matters such as these only applied to the radio and TV, and we relied upon government to legislate about fairness. Neither the, “Left,” nor the, “Right,” (nor many elsewhere) would be willing to TRUST our governments any longer. There are other search engine providers, but only one of those is a verb, right? Nobody, “Bings,” anything, do they? They Goggle it. When companies become this powerful, perhaps there needs to be a gateway, by which the public, as stakeholders could play a role in managing these issues? I can’t see any satisfactory way for government to do it. Those who would be happy with our present government running or influencing Google, would be just as unhappy when the next government took over, and reversed the message.
Perhaps the problem is as much to do with our laziness? Why do we rely so heavily on single companies and outlets for single services? I don’t even know if there IS a service to compete with YouTube, for example?
Food for thought, certainly. Food for action, most definitely. Food for thoughtful action, most of all

EyesOfGehenna : Which, taken to its logical conclusion, will mean that all political campaigners will cotton on to this, paying to push their content, cancelling each other out, and making Google even more rich. Until the singularity, that is. At which point, your sex robot will pull off its skin to reveal a terminator, underneath, or something? Or, maybe it will decide to have intelligent, post coital conversations with you. Either way, we’ll care a lot less 😉👍
