These are interesting qualifications. I consider myself politically, “conservative,” but only in the sense that I knew of when I was growing up (born in the late 60’s) in England. In America, I think that makes me a, “liberal,” but I’m not sure. US conservatives don’t fit the definition of the term any longer. The GOP is far right as I understand it, with some members borderline fascists.
I believe in minimal state intervention in business and private life, but a strong financial commitment to health, education and the law, funded by taxes.
I don’t really care what that makes me in the minds of others, since I know who I am and always know how to vote. Usually, I am voting for a lesser of two evils, but there is an increasingly stark divide between the two.
I just hope BlueSky will allow conservative voices as much as any others, but moderates better from the start. It will probably be easier to prevent flooding, if moderation stays vigilant from the outset.
