  1. Seems like they both did? Now they’re left to circle each other, looking for a crack in the other’s defences. First one to drop their guard loses. That will be Prigozhin. Even if this is a ruse, and they’re planning on launching a northern offensive from Belarus into Kyiv, Putin cannot afford to let Prigozhin live.

  5. Putin has a bloody nose, however you slice it. Unless this is some sort of ruse, how does Putin’s climb down from, “Mutiny charges!” to, “All charges dropped,” and still look, “all powerful”? Heads will have to role and you can bet Putin has some in mind, but what if they have armies at their backs too?
