And that world of 2019 seemed like the nadir of humanity’s affairs, yet we had no idea. A world wide pandemic and economic rollercoaster of the early 20’s were just the warm up act for what was to come. Now it’s clear that Putin does not have full control of his army, who fight like medieval thugs, raping, stealing, kidnapping children en masse, and bury their mass murder victims in mass graves, whilst only winning any engagement by reducing their target city to rubble and throwing away their own expendable personnel at a rate of 10 to 1.
Yet, throughout it all, NATO stops short of ending the war by simply stating out loud that they will see to it that Ukraine wins it. As soon as Putin knows he cannot, “fight to a draw,” he will start creating his own off ramps at home, as his retention of power domestically is more important to him than anything else. I can only conclude that NATO has a reason to encourage Putin to stay in the fight, while they hold up the increasingly unconvincing fig leaf of, “fear of escalation,” as their excuse? Maybe they’re making money? Maybe they’re just happy to grind Russia down slowly?
Let us just pray that NATO is not paralysed simply by indecision! It’s inevitable that Russia is going to collapse from within, as Putin is a coward, as Prigozhin demonstrated so humiliatingly for Putin and all the world to see, by forcing Putin flee Moscow for St Petersburg without even getting within 20 miles of Moscow’s city limits. Not exactly, “I don’t need a ride, I need ammo,” is it? He can NEVER forgive or forget that public shaming Prigozhin forced on him, so the fact that Prigozhin still breathes is ample proof that he’s not in full control.
Putin relies on the profits from the gold and diamond mines that Wagner controls in Africa. Which is why Wagner are STILL defying Putin’s direct orders to join the regular army and Prigozhin is ignoring his, “exile,” and Putin is powerless to prevent it. Russia is teetering on the brink and NATO should be saving blood and treasure by giving them a little push.
Forget the brainwashed population, who are willing to cheer, collectively, at the sight of bombed out cities in which little children once played, innocent civilians went about their business and no one was, “guilty,” of a damned thing. A population that can be so morally repugnant and, on their best day, politically absent, deserves collective chastisement, in my opinion. What are NATO waiting for? They’re encouraging world war three by encouraging Putin to think he might be allowed to keep Crimea!
We should all be writing to our representatives about this, and demanding more of them. A full F16 fleet of jets and a full navy are what Ukraine deserves and needs. We owe them that much.
