  9. What a superb creation! How can I help? I will support this in any way I can. My pro-tip would be, rather than stressing what it’s not; rants, rudeness, cruel or illegal commentary, (all stuff that defensive businesses will focus on) stress what it is: Professionalised, clear, coordinated, categorised, factual, distinguishing between demonstrable facts and unproved personal experiences, giving access to personal reviews whilst clearly stating what they are, and also offering follow up information such as court records, ombudsman findings, etc. That dichotomy you’re pointing to is (to me) simply about categorising. It sounds very much like you are developing your policies positively with these things in mind. My suggestion would be to have a published policy about how you work, one that evolves over time - and clearly states that it will - and, perhaps, a constitution which states your ultimate goals. For example, are you hopeful that such a database would pressure governments to create departments that coordinate and pursue bad businesses in the way you collate information? Do you want an independant resource for protecting consumer interests? Do you just want a reliable resource for everyone to use, so they can check on business before spending their money? Additionally, have you spoken to Which? Magazine? If you are based in Britain, I can envisage countless possibilities for a fruitful collaboration there? I don’t doubt that you will have already addressed almost all, if not all, of the issues I’ve raised here with yourself and your colleagues, Kieth. But, I just get excited about the possibilities for such projects and the benefits that the consumer stands to gain in the long run. Do you have a YouTube channel? If not, you should definitely consider setting one up under the name of the website/organisation itself. Even if it starts with little more than weekly updates about how the project is going, what you need, successes and failures, and maybe addressing one specific topic of the week, each week? Wishing you every success, I will take a look at your web resources and support in any way I can. That won’t be much, but collectively, we’re mighty. Godspeed, Keith.

  11. These Senators and Congresspeople need to campaign for, “Right to OWN,” not right to repair. The right to repair comes automatically with full and complete OWNERSHIP. When it’s yours you can modify it, reverse engineer it, change it, break it, REPAIR it, blow it TF up! With NO fear of consequence or negative recourse. I’m a Brit, but as I’ve said before, if it happens in major American industries, there’s way more chance it can happen in the industries of little countries like mine, since America (like it or not) sets the world standard. That, “shift in culture,” starts in America. So, working on that principle, “If I stop my brother from getting screwed, I too one day, may stop myself from getting screwed.” I have no, “rights,” in your country, but a letter to your representatives emailed from Britain, may well get someone’s attention? If for no other reason than it may surprise them to see that even the British are aware of the issue and disgusted by it, since it, “demoralises,” soldiers and could easily cost lives? Since I’m an outsider, I’ll pick the politicians I don’t know so well (I already know that Elizabeth Warren doesn’t need convincing on this issue) because I know how to make myself sound, “influential,” and how to drop hints at having, “contacts,” in their area. The terms, “fraud, waste and abuse,” and, “freedom,” will appear in my correspondence. And I will stick to the rule of brevity being the key to good communication (unlike this comment here) since the shorter and clearer the message, the better, so long as it contains the key points. Thank you for your contributions to society, my friend. You are doing God’s work.
