A law that insists on all content removal to be handled by humans would change everything. But it would change Google forever.

Let’s be honest, here? The internet as we know it is ending and everyone is going to migrate to the Dark Web, which will become the new mainstream. Have you noticed how hard it is to Google straight forward information these days? Ad Stuffing makes it almost impossible to get a direct answer to a simple question, or to tell ads from content! YouTube (owned by Google) has gone from an Ad-Free Platform (Yes! That was what made it so popular) to a heavily policed, unreasoning, algorithmic-striking-machine that makes all content creators frightened to show us anything that’s happening in the world, for fear of getting their platforms and reputations taken away from them by a machine!

Perhaps everyone will wind up migrating to the dark web? It’s getting next to impossible to get a straight answer to a direct question on Google, because of, “Ad Stuffing.” It never used to be like that. And all content is watered down or otherwise ruined because video makers are constantly afraid of strikes on YouTube, and they wind up following links in the videos to the ACTUAL videos they want to see. If the web ends up no different to mainstream TV, or even more heavily policed, people will just go elsewhere for their content. And the dark web will be the only alternative left. It’s not illegal, after all, even if much of the content out there is. The dark web will end up being mainstream.

@AlrekArinbjorn : I certainly agree with that last part, about forcing them out of their monopoly and into a more level playing field, or more open market. But, it’s not so much, “micro managing,” that’s a problem for me, as their MACRO managing, forcing us all down the same uniformed, one size fits all solutions. Though I don’t want an absolute ruling in favor of the plaintiffs, I do think it’s time Google compromised. I’ve ditched the Google search engine in favor of Bing, which is introducing ChatGPT into its model. You have to join a waitlist at present, but it’s going to revolutionise accessing information, and refining searches. Imagine you could have a conversation with the smartest person on the planet, who also has an infallible memory for literally every fact known to human kind that was ever written down, broadcast, shown in a theatre or on film, or stated in any public meeting space? And imagine that smartest person only wants to give you the help you need and lives for nothing else? Now, your only limit is your imagination. Google will not be able to compete, except by doing the same thing with their own chat-bot. I think it’s probably going to be good for the people to reintroduce a little serious competition.
