It’s only a question of time before the perennial Pyramid Scheme returns in a new skin. Since Ponzi and the numbers rackets before then, it’s the same con, only the law is too slow to catch up. As long as money exists, idiots will be fooled into losing lots of theirs, whilst trying to steel it from others. There’s something satisfyingly Darwinian about that. But there really ought to be a law against this shit.

@VisonsofFalseTruths : How does one take part in a scam without, “running it like a scam,” though? I’m not having a dig at you. Merely suggesting that your housemates have been lucky so far, or are actively scamming people themselves at a low level. They are still trading in valueless, “commodities,” and persuading their buyers that these valueless items have a value. If I take a picture of the Mona Lisa, I do not become an art dealer with a port folio worth millions. I’m just some guy with a JPEG.

@goblinrat6119 : The evidence says you’re wrong. Otherwise, the metrics of the plummeting value of these pieces of, “art,” would not match the metrics of people losing interest in NFT’s altogether. You can help an artist by buying their art, you know?
