You asked, but the fact is that you can’t, “explain away,” these pump and dump schemes as anything other than what they are. I think people just get to a point where they believe they can get away with anything. They believe their audience will forgive them, the authorities will not come for them and the world just doesn’t seem to care enough to stop them. And it seems they’re right. Law makers and law enforcers seem woefully behind, barely understanding the crypto-space, let alone protecting public interest. And we are failing to make these things into election issues by demanding more from our politicians. I can’t even see a solution at this point.
