@franciscocz8384 : I bet you won’t be saying that when the money runs out and they can’t afford to tell you what you, “think,” anymore? A month, maybe two, from now? 🙄

It’s telling that they haven’t been proud in their response. Which is what we would expect if they were worried about anything, so that says they haven’t done anything yet. And they could make a deal with one of their biggest trading partners, who can influence almost all of their other trading partners (the ones with money) and probably more than make up for any lost energy reserves from Russia? Rather than stick with the one single economy, who is going against their own doctrine of, “sovereignty,” whilst offering no inventive other then that pipeline? Russia’s economy is no bigger than Spain’s and they’re going to need to sell that gas and oil to someone, if the west isn’t buying it? China will do what is best for China, and we won’t know if they plan to help Putin until either the day they help Putin or the day we get the reports of Chinese made weapons being collected off of the battlefield from Russian corpses. But their none-belligerence surprises me. Putin is not smart. Nor does he really count as an adversary of the west (as he’s discovering) but Xi is very smart, as is his government. They’re a black box and they know it. They like to keep it that way.

Gas and oil, mainly. If they were planning to help Russia, we wouldn’t hear about it until the day it happened, or when we started collecting their spent weapons off of Russian corpses. But, at least they’re not being belligerent, so they get that we’re serious about this sh*t and don’t want to save face by getting all indignant about us, “warning,” them? That’s something . . . I guess.

@djharto4917 : I wouldn’t go that far. They do supply a lot of energy for now, but China trying is building up a reserve like America’s and they have plans for a pipeline like Germany’s. Exactly how, “dependant,” on Russian energy they are is not clear. Anyone who tells you they know for certain is probably not telling the truth, or works in the Chinese energy department and is about to be assassinated.

@amphiumaiii7058 : If you think that, you haven’t been paying attention. If anything, it’s the other way around. This whole mess has screwed up Xi’s immediate plans to take Taiwan in the next 5 years, and they are not happy at Russia about that. Worse still, Putin will have explained at least the essential workings and time frame of his own plan to him, during the Winter Olympics, and now Xi has seen that Putin was dreaming. He knows his, “ally,” is a fantasist with an economy the size of Spain’s but with more corruption. Friends like Putin are liable to get politicians like Xi killed. We keep overestimating Vlad, but it’s Xi we should be looking at as the smart one.

@a0flj0 : That’s a pretty sound analysis, in my view. ✌️

@Nola50 : World war has already begun. Only China will do what is best for China and what it believes it can get away with. If they do intend to help Russia, we won’t hear about it until the day it happens, or after the fact. The best we can take from this is that China is not being openly aggressive toward the west.
