It’s like a thief steals your wallet and says, “Don’t escalate this by calling the cops?” Sanctions are obviously working and like all bullies, he don’t want to die, so he won’t nuke anyone. But, if he keeps acting like we are at war, pushing that narrative, all he’ll do is wind up causing his own demise when we might as well just enforce that no fly zone anyway? We should at least have a humanitarian corridor no fly zone? Even if we don’t impose one on the whole country? All this death, just so Putin can remain in control of Europe’s energy supplies . . .

@alice young : You cannot negotiate with a thief AFTER they’ve already stolen from you. Putin is only there to stop Ukraine developing its MASSIVE oil and gas reserves. He wants to own ALL the energy supplies in the world, like he’s a Bond villain or something! Read a book, madam. 🙄

He’s standing there saying, “Calling the cops would be to escalate the situation.” But we can double down and say, “I’m not calling the cops. This is just a special phone call operation.” He’s bleating because the measures are WORKING and he can save his people from starvation by LEAVING Ukraine. He won’t nuke anyone. All bullies are COWARDS. He wants to live as badly as anyone. Russians should overthrow him.

Which is Putin’s way of begging for mercy. He’s not going to Nuke the world. He wants to live as do all his thug pals. We should double down sanctions because he works.
